For Made in the Shade of St. Louis co-owners Adam and Jordan Culbreath, St. Louis is more than just a city — it’s their home. The two brothers were raised in Wildwood, Missouri, graduating from Eureka High School. Growing up in the St. Louis suburbs, Jordan discovered a passion for music and band while Adam found a long-lasting love for soccer, which he still plays to this day. As they got older, Adam moved to Kentucky, attending Murray State University to pursue a degree in finance. Two years later, Jordan joined to study music business. At college, their brotherhood was further cemented by both participating in the same fraternity, SigEp. Adventure has played a large role in the brothers’ lives, whether by water skiing at the lake or travelling to experience new cultures. Adam spent a semester studying abroad in Alicante, Spain, and the Culbreath family has taken several trips to Panama to help build wells for remote indigenous villages for charity David’s Well. Combined, the brothers have seen over 20 countries. However, home is where the heart is — and for the Culbreath brothers, the greatest adventure of all. Adam and Jordan returned to their roots post graduation to embark on the journey of starting their own business. After discovering the Made in the Shade company, a network of 170 different franchises across the United States, they decided to kick off their own franchise for the St. Louis market. The birth of Made in the Shade St. Louis has not only given Adam and Jordan a chance to grow a business and a career, but a way to reconnect with their local origins. Their goal is to not only provide excellent service, but to fill St. Louis with top tier window coverings that have affordable prices, bringing quality and customization to the city they know and love.

Absolutely thrilled with our new plantation shutters! From start to finish, working with this family-run business—led by Adam, Jordan, and Ron—was an all-around fantastic experience. They were professional, communicative, and made the entire process seamless. The pricing was fair and the quality of the shutters is outstanding. So many positives, no negatives - where to begin? Adam, Jordan, and Ron were so wonderful to work with from beginning to end. From the very first phone call to the next steps related to product picks to simple conversations in between, this company was just right. We never once felt pressured to purchase products and learned so much throughout the process. The entire team was professional and kept us updated on shipment/scheduling/install every step of the way. Ron and Jordan even came back a second time so we could finalize patterns with our entire family. Made In The Shade is a family owned business where the design, ordering, and install process is all done themselves directly. This helps so much with transparency and kept the entire project smooth. Adam, Jordan and their dad Ron work extremely well together, and we truly enjoyed having them around. In the future, there is no reason we wouldn't use this team again. Thanks for everything, we love our new shades and will miss seeing your happy faces! For reference, we ordered the motorized dual shades in our entire home (including two patio slider doors)!

Great company to work with!! From selection with Adam (such patience! Thank you) to installation by Dustin, the entire experience was so easy and painless (at least for us). Highly recommend them for customer service, installation and product quality! Family owned, and quality driven. Very happy with our new roller shades!
