Thank you for visiting Made in the Shade East Texas! Michael Mason was born and raised in Tyler, Texas and attended Baylor University, graduating with a BBA in Management and Marketing. Michael worked as a Landman in the oil and gas industry for roughly 8 years, but always had a passion to serve. Michael followed his passion to serve and joined the Abilene Police Department in 2017 where he worked as a Patrol Officer for several years. He ended his career there as a Detective in the Homicide and Major Crimes unit. Catherine “Cat” Mason was born and raised in Abilene, Texas, attended Abilene Christian University and obtained a BS in Criminal Justice. Cat worked for the Department of Family and Protective Services prior to joining the Police Department in Abilene in 2015. Cat served in various roles at the police department, and she ended her career there as a Patrol Sergeant.
