Thank you for visiting Made in the Shade Clayton & Fuquay-Varina! Early in Glenn's career and during college he worked in the construction of new homes with a specialty in interior painting, wood working and finishings of clients new homes. Learning a trade and skill at the beginning of his working years proved to be invaluable. After finishing higher education he enjoyed working in corporate America working for some of the largest communications companies in the world including on Wall Street. Aurea and Glenn had planned for several years to make North Carolina their permanent home and moved from the northeast in 2017 to move closer to family. We have a passion for interior design specifically with window treatments and look forward to meeting new clients each day to help them make good decisions when it comes to selection, quality and best solutions. At Made in the Shade, we offer a complimentary consultation, complete with free measuring and a free estimate. This service allows you to see various window coverings in your own environment, enabling you to see how light, room colors and furnishings affect your options and choices. We are proud to serve you and provide a exceptional products for your next window treatment project.

We had an outstanding experience with Made in the Shade! Glenn & Auria, the owners and installers, went above and beyond to ensure we ended up with the perfect roller shades for our home. Not only is Glenn an expert installer, but he’s also a talented window fashion designer who helped us match the shades to our trim flawlessly. He truly listened to our needs and never pushed unnecessary upgrades. Our project was no small task—50 windows! Glenn brought the manufacturer out to our home to meet us, demonstrating his commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The shades arrived in just four weeks, and his installation was precise and professional. He worked nonstop from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM until the entire house was finished.We couldn’t be happier with the result—the value of our home has increased exponentially! We received quotes from three other well-known companies, and Made in the Shade beat them all in price without compromising on quality. (and trust me, we did our homework.) Look no further than “Made in the Shade” for amazing window covers, especially Glenn Wangerien! Don’t settle for Blinds.com or other sites, or big store “outside” contractors to up-charge you more than you are asking for. Glenn was very professional and knowledgeable with guiding us to make the best decision for our patio that was affordable. We love our new shades! Thank you Glenn!

Glenn was an absolute pleasure to work with! He helped us pick just the right shades. They arrived right on time as promised & were quickly installed. When lowered, we appreciate they allow us to still view the backyard when looking out but provide much needed shade from the western exposure. They provide privacy when looking into the porch from the outside. They are easy to raise and lower and are out of sight when completely raised. They were half the price, with a personal touch, of motorized shades we had previously looked at.
