Scott and Jen met in the fourth grade while attending elementary school together on James Island and have been best friends ever since. Their love story extends to the Lowcountry and its people and drives everything they do to support their community and our traditions. We were looking for window coverings for our newly renovated vacation rental. Not being from the area, we first thought of the national chains. But in asking around for referrals, Made in the Shade came highly recommended.by several people we trusted. From the in-person consultation with one of the owners through installation, the experience was top-notch! Scott was knowledgeable and offered suggestions that come from years of working in the business and understanding customer needs. He was professional - but with a personal touch, which made for a truly pleasurable meeting. Consultation, measurement and estimates all conveniently happened at the first meeting, with timely follow-up, including updates on installation. Finally, the installation technicians were wonderful - fast and professional with attention to detail - taking time to clean-up as they installed. I highly recommend Made in the Shade for your next project - they are simply the best!!

I needed a solution for window treatments in a primary bathroom of an old house that could not accommodate shutters. I also needed shades for a sitting area in the kitchen. Scott came to my home with multiple types of woven shades and he provided helpful suggestions in choosing the shade that provided privacy yet let light through. He also helped me choose a shade that would be appropriate for a window inside a shower. We are very happy with the results.
