Creating an outdoor space to enjoy family and friends can be a simple or daunting task, depending on complexity of the project and who you choose to bring your vision to reality. Deckscapes of Virginia delivered! They delivered on cost, communication, design, professionalism and work ethic. From visiting their website, to accessing the available price calculator, we had a ballpark estimate of what our project could potentially cost. The price calculator is an excellent tool. It not only gave us an idea of how much our project could cost, it gave us the opportunity to add or take away features based on our budget. After exploring the price calculator and submitting our information, we received a phone call and email within hours of our submission to discuss our project wants, needs and desires. Within a week we met, spent time and walked our property with John who took the opportunity to build a relationship with us and to get a true feel for what we wanted. John built trust, provided his honest thoughts and opinions which ultimately led to an amazing design for our backyard. From the design to the finished product, Deckscapes communicated the steps, the process and what we could expect along the way. Deckscapes made sure we had 24/7 access to ask questions and communicate concerns. Tyler, our project manager, Kim the overall supervisor and John were professional and responsive to all our questions and concerns. Tyler was present and on site multiple times a day to monitor the progress of our project and to ensure the crew stayed on task. Throughout the entire project the crew took great pride in their skilled trade. They worked hard, paid attention to detail, asked us our thoughts and wanted to make sure we were happy with the outcome of their work. They maintained a well organized worksite and at the end of the day the crew made sure the worksite was clean and all tools were in the appropriate places. Once the project was complete, Tyler did a walkthrough and pointed a few things out to us. He quickly resolved the issues, scheduled the crew to return and provided swift solutions. Tim, the customer service manager met with us to discuss the warranties in place for products used and workmanship of our finished project. Tim reinsured us that if an issue ever arises that all we had to do is pick up the phone and call him directly, that speaks volumes. Deckscapes of Virginia exceeded our expectations and their professionalism was truly appreciated. We truly enjoyed working with them to bring our dream to reality.

We recently completed a complex above-ground pool, deck, and pergola project with Deckscapes of Virginia, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. The build had tight design parameters due to county permitting, and Deckscapes stuck with us through a prolonged (3+ years) and often frustrating county approval process. Their commitment never wavered. The design phase with Josh F. was a standout experience—he put a tremendous amount of thought into our project, patiently working through multiple iterations to get everything just right. His creativity and attention to detail really helped bring our vision to life. As with any major construction, there were bumps along the way—some due to our own selections, others from county delays, and a few from Deckscapes themselves. But our project manager Fred consistently found solutions and always did what was right by us as the customer. Integrity makes a big difference. The finished product looks fantastic and has received tons of compliments. Even a year later, Deckscapes (led by Tim) has honored their warranty and returned to fix a few things—showing they stand behind their work and value long-term customer satisfaction. If we had one piece of constructive feedback, it would be around scheduling. Timelines were often fluid, and there were stretches where no work was being done unless we nudged things along. That said, the quality and care they put into the project ultimately made it worth the wait. We recommend Deckscapes of Virginia for anyone looking to tackle a custom outdoor build. Their team is talented, thoughtful, and committed to doing things the right way.

Deckscapes completed a very large project for us (patio, pool, outdoor covered area). Multiple specialties were involved. The whole process went exceedingly well. The end result was almost exactly as was drawn up. It’s beautiful, functional and a great addition to our home. The entire Deckscapes team was responsive, responsible and a pleasure to work with. This was a great experience and I would recommend Deckscapes without reservation!
